Take Care of Yourself
Take Care of Yourself
Understanding the importance of self-care is a practise we all must invest in to ensure we protect our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing as we navigate our way through life.
Healthy eating getting enough sleep and developing coping mechanism are skills that manage stress. Exercise, engaging in hobbies and being able to communicate socially with one another creates balance.
This basic need has not been given enough importance by the government and is not a feature of the school environment. It’s been overlooked and is not regarded as an academic achievement, when in fact, it actually plays a massive part in achieving success. It’s a key element in improving our current social structure.
I believe that addressing this in the right way will have a directly positive impact on the social issues we currently face. Issues like discrimination, poverty and inequality within our community and in business.
Let’s stop fighting fires and start tackling the root underlying issues to our problems in today’s society.
Selfcare is worth investing in. I believe this is a topic we learn through our trials and tribulations in life. From a young age our focus is to learn how to survive in the work environment.
The best subject I ever studied was learning and understanding who I am as a person. By going through trauma you start to focus on yourself and begin to move forward and make sense of how you have been conditioned from a young age.
If you are lucky enough to have a strong family foundation you have a head start, which gives you the tools to help you cope with whatever life presents you with.
The problem is not everyone is blessed with that luxury.
Is it the education systems place to try and bridge the gap or is there anyway that independent organisations can assist the education system to get it right?
Unfortunately, the system seems to fail over and over again in this area.
The importance of self-care needs to be prioritised and emphasised to the young from an early age.
Taking care of ourselves today is just the beginning, it’s time for our government and education system to step up and do better for the future generation.
Let’s fight for change and shape our tomorrow based on truth and togetherness.
Stay blessed
