The real Unsung community hero’s that move in silence we see you
At Ikehi Fitness, one of our core values is to keep it real — staying authentic, genuine, and rooted in truth to create meaningful change for everyone. Regardless of age race or gender.
We align ourselves with individuals and businesses who lead with purpose, solve problems with creativity, and strive to make better health and wellbeing accessible to all. We are especially drawn to the unsung heroes — the quiet champions who serve their communities with humility and heart without the need of accolade but lead by a sense of duty to do the right thing which is needed for us to see we are people first and without placing importance on underlying differences.
JH Peters Opticians is a perfect reflection of these values.
In a time of personal need, I had the honour and privilege of meeting the owner, Aliabbas Thaver. What followed was nothing short of extraordinary. With professionalism, empathy, and incredible efficiency, Aliabbas and his team identified the issue and provided a solution — not just with skill, but with genuine care. Their approach was guided by deep expertise, supported by advanced technology, and most of all, by a spirit of service.
The atmosphere at JH Peters is warm, welcoming, and clearly built on a foundation of compassion. I had the joy of witnessing a young child receiving their very first pair of glasses. The look of wonder on her face, mirrored by the delight of the team, was a moment that felt truly magical with the added support of her mother and relative. I couldn’t help but celebrate alongside with everyone in the reception area.
What began as a tribute to Aliabbas quickly expanded into admiration for everything he’s created with his team. This is a business built on trust, kindness, and excellence. And it doesn’t stop there.
At Ikehi Fitness, we’ve seen Aliabbas’s dedication first-hand — showing up at 6am to train, day after day, training through pain and adversity. Not for recognition, but for a cause greater than himself which I only later found out. He would come to me with his physical setbacks he faced whilst running which I was happy to assist with but it wasn’t for himself but the need to compete in the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the Institute of the Blind. That kind of commitment speaks volumes and the way he presented it left me feeling humbled by his humility.
